Psychometric Assessment

Standardized tools and tests used to measure candidates' cognitive abilities, personality traits, leadership behaviors, and emotional intelligence as part of the executive evaluation process.

Understanding Psychometric Assessment

Psychometric assessments provide objective data to supplement subjective interview impressions in executive evaluation. Common tools used in executive search include the Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI), Hogan Development Survey (HDS), the Predictive Index, Gallup StrengthsFinder, DiSC, and the California Psychological Inventory. These assessments measure traits such as strategic thinking, decision-making style, emotional stability, interpersonal effectiveness, resilience, and potential derailment risks. Assessment results are interpreted by trained psychologists or certified practitioners who provide narrative reports relating scores to specific job requirements. The most valuable assessments identify both strengths and potential vulnerabilities, enabling informed onboarding and development planning. Ethical use of psychometric assessments requires candidate consent, trained interpretation, and non-discriminatory application.
